How we build and rank the directory
Short version: the companies come from Google Maps, each list includes those based near the area, and they are sorted by Google rating adjusted for the number of reviews. Nobody pays to appear or to rank higher. Data checked on 2026-10-20.
1. Finding the companies
For each of the directory's 3 services (taxis and radio taxis, airport taxis, and private drivers or chauffeurs) we run several Google Maps searches in Barcelona and in the towns of the province. A result is kept only when its own Google category matches the service, so a taxi rank, a repair garage, a driving school or a car rental desk doesn't end up on the list. Closed businesses are removed.
The pages by need (large taxis and minivans (7–8 seats), wheelchair-accessible taxis, pet-friendly taxis) gather the taxi and private driver companies whose website says they offer it.
2. Which area each list covers
A taxi works mostly close to where it is licensed. So each list includes the companies based within 15 km of central Barcelona, or within 8 km of the town centre on the other towns' pages. The same company can appear on several lists.
3. The ranking formula
A plain average would put a 5.0 from 3 reviews above a 4.8 from 400. So the score is a Bayesian average: each company's rating is blended with a neutral 4.3 as if it had 20 extra reviews at that value.
score = (rating × reviews + 4.3 × 20) ÷ (reviews + 20)
With few reviews the score stays close to 4.3; with hundreds it is almost exactly the company's own rating.

4. What data we show
- From Google Maps (always labelled as such): rating, review count, categories, address, town, opening hours and photo.
- From each company's website, only when the website states it: vehicle types (saloon, people carrier, minivan, electric, hybrid), number of passengers, 7- or 8-seat taxis, wheelchair-accessible (PMR) taxis, whether pets are accepted, card payment, fixed prices, 24-hour service, destinations named, founding year and website languages.
We don't publish phone numbers or websites: bookings go through our form, which sends them to the companies that fit the trip.
Profiles are published for the companies in the top 25 of any list. Profiles with fewer than 5 reviews and no website facts can be viewed but are not offered to search engines.
5. Corrections
If you run one of the 733 companies in the directory and something is wrong or out of date, write to us through the form with the company's name and we'll fix it. Ratings and reviews change every day on Google; the date on each page says when they were checked.
