Taxi in Sagrada Família

You step out of the basilica with tired feet and a stamped ticket, and your next plan is on the other side of the city: a flight, a cruise ship or a dinner. A taxi in Sagrada Família spares you a crowded metro, and the neighbourhood has official ranks a few blocks away. We explain below where they are, what the usual journeys cost and how to book without waiting around.

Taxi in Sagrada Família

The Sagrada Família is a neighbourhood in the Eixample district, so every journey inside Barcelona is charged on the AMB (Barcelona metropolitan area) urban tariff: a €2.80 starting charge plus €1.35 per km on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00, or €1.66 per km at night, on Saturdays and on public holidays, according to the 2026 AMB taxi fares.

Taxi rank in Sagrada Família

According to the city council's open data (Open Data BCN, taxi ranks, CC BY 4.0), the neighbourhood has six ranks:

• Plaça Gaudí 8, the closest to the basilica by street name.
• Carrer de Mallorca 400 and 422, two ranks on the same street, one at each side of the neighbourhood.
• Carrer de València 543.
• Carrer de Còrsega 597.
• Carrer de Sant Antoni Maria Claret 204.

General entry to the basilica is through the Nativity façade on Carrer de la Marina, and visits can only be bought online, according to the official Sagrada Família website. If you want a taxi to meet you when you come out, tell the driver you are at the Carrer de la Marina entrance and agree a specific meeting point.

How much does a taxi cost from the Sagrada Família?

These are our own calculations from the centre of the neighbourhood with the 2026 AMB tariff. They include the starting charge, the kilometres and the airport or Moll Adossat supplement where it applies. They do not include waiting, traffic, tolls or the €4.60 supplement for a vehicle carrying 5 to 8 passengers.

Sants station adds a €2.55 supplement only when it is the starting point. Journeys that start at the airport have a €21 minimum with all supplements included. Opening hours and your taxi

The basilica's opening hours change with the season. Its website lists 9:00 to 20:00 from Monday to Friday between April and September, and 9:00 to 18:00 from Monday to Saturday between November and February. It also shows shorter hours on 25 and 26 December and on 1 and 6 January. Check the official calendar for your date before you fix a pick-up time, and leave time to walk out.

Getting to the Sagrada Família without a taxi

The basilica's website lists metro stop Sagrada Família (lines L2 and L5) and buses 19, 33, 34, D50, H10 and B24. These work well if you have no heavy luggage, but with suitcases, small children or someone with reduced mobility a taxi saves stairs and changes. If the visit is the last thing you do before a flight, a taxi from here to the airport is a single journey.

What if the visit runs long?

The meter counts waiting time at €27.75 an hour under the AMB tariff, so asking a driver to wait while you finish is dearer than booking for a fixed time. It is usually better to book with the exit time on your ticket in mind, leave a margin to leave the building and wait at a clear point on Carrer de la Marina or Plaça Gaudí.
