You land at T1 at 11:00 with two suitcases and the ship boards at 14:00. For a taxi from Barcelona Airport to the cruise port, three things matter: the price is fixed, the ride is short, and the detail most likely to go wrong is the terminal, not the taxi.
Taxi Barcelona airport to cruise port
The AMB has its own tariff for this run. According to the AMB taxi tariff page, tariff T-4 applies between the Moll Adossat and Barcelona Airport in both directions, at a fixed €46 with all supplements included.
That sets it apart from almost every other taxi ride: it does not depend on kilometres, traffic or the time of day. Because of that there is little to negotiate. What is worth confirming is that the ride is booked as the T-4 fare and not as an ordinary metered trip.
Taxi from Barcelona Airport to the cruise port
| Item |
Amount |
| Fixed fare T-4, airport to Moll Adossat |
€46 |
| Airport supplement (T-1 and T-2 tariffs only) |
€4.60 |
| Moll Adossat supplement (T-1 and T-2 tariffs only) |
€4.60 |
| Supplement for 5 to 8 passengers |
€4.60 |
The airport and Moll Adossat supplements are already inside the €46, according to the AMB. We list them so you can see why other rides from El Prat cost more than their distance suggests. The group supplement is not added to the figure on this page, so ask the company whether it charges it when you book.
If you are not going to the Moll Adossat but to another address in the city, T-4 no longer applies. The urban meter tariff is used instead, with its supplements. Our guide to Barcelona taxi fares walks through it.
Which terminal is your ship using?
The Port de Barcelona lists seven international passenger terminals: A, B, C, D (Palacruceros), E (Helix), MSC and WTCB, on the Moll Adossat and the Moll de Barcelona, according to its passenger terminals page.
T-4 refers to the Moll Adossat. If your cruise line sends you to a terminal on the Moll de Barcelona, ask the company to confirm the price before you get in, because we cannot confirm that T-4 covers that destination. Read the terminal name in your ticket or in the cruise line's email and give it to the company when you book.
How long does the taxi take from the airport to the cruise port?
About 16 minutes without traffic for 14.5 km. Add margin for walking out of the terminal with bags and for the queue at the port entrance on days with several ships. If boarding closes at a set time, do not plan for the last minute.
For morning arrivals, allow for passport control, baggage reclaim and the walk to the rank. With a booked taxi the driver can wait for you in arrivals, and if your flight is late the company can adjust to the real landing time.
Where does the taxi pick you up at the airport?
According to Aena, ranks sit in front of arrivals: T1 on level 0, and T2A, T2B and T2C, each with a stand for taxis with a reservation and one for taxis without. Aena adds that the only official Barcelona taxi is black and yellow.
If you book a company, send the terminal, landing time and flight number. For a private hire vehicle (VTC, the licence Uber and Cabify drivers use) the pick-up point may differ, so ask.
What if you travel in a group or with a lot of luggage?
A standard taxi seats four. For 5 to 8 passengers you need a larger vehicle, and all 30 companies in our list state on their websites that they offer 7 or 8 seats. See our page on large taxis in Barcelona if you travel as a group.
If someone uses a wheelchair, 14 of the 30 companies mention adapted taxis. With a pet, 5 say they accept animals. Mention both when booking.
An official alternative: the Cruise Bus
The Port de Barcelona states on its transport services page that a Cruise Bus links the Moll Adossat terminals with the city centre, at €3.50 one way and €5 return. It takes you from the terminal to the city, not from the airport to the quay, so for that leg you still need a taxi.
