Taxi from Barcelona Airport to Castelldefels
You have collected your bags at T2 and your hotel is on the beach at Castelldefels. A taxi from Barcelona Airport to Castelldefels is a short ride south-west: 15.1 km, about 16 minutes without traffic.
Both ends are inside the Barcelona metropolitan area (AMB), so the official urban tariff applies, not the intercity one used for longer trips. That is why the fare is so much lower than on the Costa Brava or Costa Daurada runs.
Barcelona Airport to Castelldefels taxi fare
Between €28 and €32, depending on the time. The AMB tariff has a €2.80 flag, then €1.35 per km on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00 (T-1) and €1.66 per km at night, at weekends and on holidays (T-2).

Is the taxi fare per person or per car?
Per car. People often ask this after reading forum threads about a fare that looked too high. The meter does not count passengers; only a vehicle with 5 to 8 passengers pays the extra €4.60. If a driver quotes a figure well above the range in our table, ask what it includes before you accept.
Where do you find the taxi at the airport?
Aena says T1 has taxi ranks on level 0, plus two on the Barcelona-Madrid corridor, and that T2 has a rank in the arrivals area of each of T2A, T2B and T2C. Each has separate rows for taxis with and without a reservation.
If you have booked in advance, tell the company which terminal and flight you arrive on. The airport itself is covered on our page for taxi to Barcelona Airport.
Taxi, private hire or a pre-booked transfer?
A street taxi is the simplest choice with no booking: you queue, the meter runs and the AMB tariff applies. A pre-booked service is better if you arrive late, have a large group or want a named driver at arrivals.
Many companies on the ranked list mention fixed prices on their own websites; 20 of the 30 do. Ask for the amount in writing and for what it includes. Our Barcelona taxi fares page explains the tariffs, and Uber in Barcelona covers private hire.
Our shortlist
We chose from the ranked list using each profile and what the company says on its own site. See how we rank.
- Castelldefels among its destinations, 5 stars: Go BCN Taxi, Esplugues de Llobregat, 119 reviews, fixed prices, a wheelchair-adapted taxi and vehicles for 4, 6 and 8 passengers.
- 24-hour service and fixed prices: TransferS GROUP, Barcelona, 5 stars from 100 reviews.
- Website in five languages: Click Taxi, Barcelona, 5 stars from 45 reviews. It names Castelldefels and the airport, mentions fixed prices and offers its site in Spanish, English, French, Italian and Chinese.
- Adapted taxi and card payment: Aerotaxi Mercedes Barcelona, Molins de Rei, 5 stars from 32 reviews, with an eight-passenger vehicle.
- Most reviews among the adapted taxis: Taxi Sobre Rodes, Barcelona, 4.6 from 163 reviews. Its website mentions card payment and 24-hour service.
Large groups, wheelchairs and pets
24 of the 30 services say on their websites that they run 7 or 8 seat vehicles; see our large taxi Barcelona page. 18 mention adapted taxis and 4 say they accept pets, as stated on their own sites.
What should you ask before you book?
Even on a short airport run, a few questions save a surprise at the end. Ask whether the price is the meter or a fixed amount, and if fixed, whether it includes the airport supplement, luggage and any wait if your flight is late. Ask how many bags fit with your party in the vehicle, since a standard car and a people carrier are not the same.
If you are travelling with a child, ask about child seats when you book rather than at the kerb. If someone in your group uses a wheelchair, ask for an adapted taxi in advance, because they are fewer than standard cars. Say how you want to pay: not every driver takes cards, and 12 of the 30 services mention card payment on their websites.
When does the night rate apply?
The cheaper T-1 rate is for weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00. Outside those hours, and at weekends and on holidays, the T-2 rate of €1.66 per km applies, which is why we show two figures. On a short ride the difference is a few euros, so the time of your flight matters less here than on a longer transfer.
Where the companies are based and how to book
Of the 30 services, 21 are in Barcelona, 3 in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and 2 in Esplugues de Llobregat. There is 1 each in Molins de Rei, Sant Just Desvern, Cornellà de Llobregat and Sant Cugat del Vallès.
When you book, give your flight number, the terminal, the address in Castelldefels, passengers and bags. Use our booking form; it goes to up to three companies.
