Taxi from Barcelona to PortAventura

You are heading for a long day at the park with children, and you do not want to carry bags through a train change. A taxi from Barcelona to PortAventura starts at your door and ends at the park, and the price is for the car, not per head. For a group of six or seven, that can be competitive.

PortAventura is outside the Barcelona metropolitan area (AMB), so the AMB taxi page refers to the fares set by the Generalitat of Catalonia. The rest of this guide explains the maths.

Barcelona to PortAventura taxi fare

Our calculation is about €175 on weekdays between 8:00 and 20:00 and about €190 at night, at weekends and on holidays. It uses the 106.8 km route and the intercity rates in the 2026 tariff published by Girona council: €0.82 per kilometre by day and €0.89 at night.

The estimate leaves out waiting, traffic and tolls. It is a yardstick for comparing quotes, not an offer from a company. The official address of the park is Avinguda Alcalde Pere Molas in Vila-seca, which is the address to give the driver.

Why is a one-way trip billed in both directions?

The tariff uses a closed circuit. The STAC states that routes are counted to the starting point by the shortest way unless the parties expressly agree otherwise, and that the service is hired per vehicle. Tolls are paid by the user, including the driver's return.

On a trip this long, tolls matter. According to PortAventura's own page, access by car is directly from the A-7. Ask each company whether its price already includes the road charges for both legs.

What are the alternatives to a taxi?

The park's how to get there page lists a Rodalies stop for the R-17 and RT2 lines, with a free round-trip train ticket when you hold a park ticket. It also mentions a Plana coastal bus, Moventis services on Thursdays from the Costa Brava and Julià Travel excursions from Barcelona. For the most current situation of the Rodalies line, check the park page, since it notes works between Garraf and Sitges.

A taxi is the choice for groups with luggage, for early starts and for people who cannot manage a connection. For one adult, the train is much cheaper.

Which size of taxi should you ask for?

Up to four people fit in a normal taxi. For five to eight, ask for a large taxi and expect the €4.60 supplement. According to their own websites, 25 of the 30 services in this list offer 7 or 8 seats and 13 mention wheelchair-adapted taxis. Five accept pets.

What should you ask before you book?

Ask whether the price is the meter or a fixed total, whether tolls are included both ways, how the company handles a late pick-up in the evening, and whether you want a return trip. If you plan the park and the taxi in one day, remember that the waiting rate is hourly, so a return pick-up is usually better booked separately.
