You land on a July afternoon and the hotel is in Lloret de Mar. A taxi from Barcelona Airport to Lloret de Mar is an intercity ride, so it follows the Generalitat's intercity rates and not the urban tariff of the metropolitan area. The trip is long, so what matters is the closed-circuit rule, the tolls and how many people share the car.
Taxi from Barcelona Airport to Lloret de Mar
The meter works on kilometres, and the kilometre price depends on the hour. The 2026 intercity tariff published by the Ajuntament de Girona sets €0.82 per km on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and €0.89 per km at other times, weekends and holidays, plus a €4.60 airport supplement and €4.60 for more than four passengers.
The STAC adds that these rides are hired by the whole vehicle, so the price is for the car, not per seat.

These are meter amounts we calculated: 89.5 km counted there and back at €0.82 or €0.89 per km, plus the €4.60 airport supplement. Tolls, waiting and traffic are not included. Waiting costs €22.47 per hour by day and €24.32 at night. On the nights of 23 to 24 June, 24 to 25 December and 31 December to 1 January the tariff adds another €4.60 between 20:00 and 8:00.
Why does the taxi charge for the way back?
Because the circuit is closed. The STAC states that the route is counted back to the starting point by the shortest way, unless both parties agree otherwise. That is why 89.5 km of road turn into about 179 km on the meter.
The STAC also says the user pays tolls, including those on the taxi's return journey. On a trip over 85 km, ask whether a company's closed price includes them.
How long does it take, and what should you book for peak season?
Allow about 73 minutes without traffic. In summer and on weekends the roads leaving Barcelona fill up, so we would book ahead and add an hour of margin if you have a fixed commitment.
Tell the company your flight number, the number of bags, whether children travel and the exact address of the hotel or apartment. If the street in Lloret is narrow or pedestrian, ask the driver for the nearest drop-off point. According to Aena, T1 ranks are on level 0 and each T2 terminal has a reservation and a no-reservation rank.
Does the airport you fly into matter?
The figures here are for El Prat. We have not compared other airports for Lloret, so check your airline's options. For other Costa Brava stops from El Prat, see Barcelona Airport to Tossa de Mar.

How many people and bags fit?
A standard taxi seats four. For five to eight you need a larger vehicle. According to their websites, 23 of the 30 listed services offer 7 or 8 seats, 12 mention adapted taxis, 5 accept pets and 23 state round-the-clock service. Our large taxi in Barcelona page covers groups.
What should you ask when you book?
Ask for the total in writing and whether tolls are in it. Ask how long the driver waits after landing and what a delay costs, using the waiting rate above as a reference. Mention children, suitcases and any wish for a child seat, since we cannot confirm that every vehicle carries one. Lloret has a busy centre in summer, so give the full address and ask the driver where the closest drop-off point is. Keep the confirmation message from the company on your phone in case the driver needs to check the booking.
