Why does the meter count about 216 km?

Because the circuit is closed. The STAC states that the route is counted back to the starting point by the shortest way, unless the parties agree otherwise, and that the vehicle is hired as a whole. So 108.2 km one way are charged as about 216 km.

What should you ask before accepting a quote?

On 108 km, tolls are a real part of the cost and the passenger pays them in both directions. Ask in writing whether the amount includes them, what waiting costs if you are delayed, and what happens if you change the time.

If you travel with small children or a lot of luggage, say so when booking, because that decides the vehicle. For a specific hotel in Salou, give its name and full address, not only the town.

What about the return trip?
