A taxi from Barcelona to Sitges covers 38.7 km in about 38 minutes without traffic. On the 2026 intercity tariff the meter shows about €63 on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and about €69 at night, at weekends and on holidays, for the whole car. It leaves out tolls, waiting and the €4.60 supplement for more than four passengers. We explain the calculation and compare 30 services.
If you need a taxi from Barcelona to Sitges, start with one fact: there is no single price. The meter depends on kilometres, the hour and what happens on the road. Here is the official starting figure, what it leaves out, and how to choose a company whether you travel alone, as a family or with large bags.
Taxi from Barcelona to Sitges
A taxi from Barcelona to Sitges is an intercity service: you leave one municipality and arrive in another, so the urban tariff of the metropolitan area does not apply. The Generalitat's intercity rates do. You give the pick-up address, the driver starts the meter when you get in, and drops you at the hotel, station or address in Sitges.
We would book ahead, because the trip is long and Barcelona taxis rarely wait for a passenger on the way back. The list above has 30 companies that name Sitges on their websites. According to those sites, 28 offer 7 or 8 seats and 27 state round-the-clock service.
Barcelona to Sitges taxi fare
The fare comes from kilometres multiplied by the kilometre price. The 2026 intercity tariff published by the Ajuntament de Girona sets €0.82 per km on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and €0.89 per km at other times, weekends and holidays. The STAC explains that intercity rides are counted as a closed circuit: you pay the kilometres to the destination and the taxi's way back to the starting point.

These are meter amounts we calculated. In practice they can differ by a few euros depending on the route the driver chooses and the traffic.
What does the meter include, and what is extra?
The figures above cover distance only. Four things are left out:
- Waiting and traffic: the tariff charges €22.47 per hour by day and €24.32 at night, according to the Girona page.
- Tolls: the STAC says the passenger pays them, including the toll on the taxi's return.
- More than four passengers: €4.60 extra, which gives about €68 by day.
- Airport pick-up: a €4.60 airport supplement. This page starts in the city. For El Prat see the page on a taxi from Barcelona Airport to Sitges.
If a company quotes a closed price, ask what it includes: tolls, waiting at pick-up, luggage and the group supplement. 18 of the 30 companies mention fixed prices on their websites, but we do not publish their amounts.
How long does it take, and where does the taxi collect you?
Allow about 38 minutes without traffic, more at peak times. Say the exact address when booking: hotel, street number and, if you leave from a station, the exit. Aena states on its taxi page that El Prat has ranks with and without reservation, in case you start there.
Taxi, train or bus to Sitges?
It depends on how many of you there are and how much luggage you carry. A taxi costs the same for one or four, so it pays off for groups, families, large bags or late nights. For one person with a small bag, public transport may cost less: check the official site of Rodalies de Catalunya for timetables and the last service.
If two of these three apply, we would start with the taxi: you arrive late, you carry heavy bags, or you want door-to-door. For other apps, our Uber in Barcelona guide may help.
How many people and bags fit?
A standard taxi seats four. For five to eight you need a larger vehicle, with the supplement above. According to their websites, 28 of the 30 companies offer 7 or 8 seats, 13 mention adapted taxis and 3 accept pets. If you are six with suitcases, say so, as seats in use reduce boot space.
