Taxi from Barcelona to Lloret de Mar
You land in Barcelona on a Saturday in July and your hotel is in Lloret. A taxi from Barcelona to Lloret de Mar (or a Lloret de Mar to Barcelona taxi on the way back) is the simplest option: the bus has timetables and a change, a hire car means parking, and the taxi takes you door to door. Lloret is outside the metropolitan area, so this is an intercity trip. The AMB, which sets the urban fare, says the Generalitat's tariffs apply when a journey starts or ends outside its area.
The first surprise is what you pay for: the kilometres the taxi drives back as well as yours. That is why 75.6 km of road produces a bill above €120.
Barcelona to Lloret de Mar taxi fare
Expect €124 to €135 on the meter, depending on the time. The 2026 intercity tariff published by Girona city council is €0.82 per km on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and €0.89 per km at night, at weekends and on holidays.
| Situation |
Approximate meter fare |
| Weekday 8:00 to 20:00, up to 4 passengers |
about €124 |
| Night, Saturday or holiday, up to 4 passengers |
about €135 |
| Weekday, 5 to 8 passengers |
about €129 |
| Night or holiday, 5 to 8 passengers |
about €139 |
These figures leave out tolls, waiting and traffic. The same table lists a €4.60 supplement for more than four passengers, a €4.60 airport supplement and a €4.60 supplement on the nights of 23 to 24 June, 24 to 25 December and 31 December to 1 January.
Why does the taxi charge for the return trip?
Catalan intercity fares are applied as a closed circuit. The STAC, the taxi federation, explains that the journey is counted back to the starting point by the shortest route unless both sides agree otherwise, and that the passenger pays any toll, including the one on the driver's way back. So 75.6 km out is billed as about 151 km.
In practice the figure above is the price of the whole car for the job, not a per-person fare. With four people sharing, it looks far more reasonable.
How long does it take, and what about peak season?
The drive takes about 62 minutes without traffic, but the roads in and out of the Costa Brava fill up in summer. For a weekend in July or August, book ahead and add an hour of margin if you have a flight or a ferry to catch.
Tell the company the exact hotel or apartment address, how many suitcases you have and whether children are travelling. If the hotel sits on narrow or pedestrian streets, ask the driver for the nearest drop-off point. For a bigger group, 23 of the 30 services say on their own websites that they run 7 or 8 seat vehicles; our large taxi Barcelona page covers that.
What if you arrive at Barcelona Airport?
The intercity tariff applies from the airport too, plus the €4.60 airport supplement. We cover that route separately on our Barcelona Airport to Lloret de Mar taxi page. If you are weighing other points on the coast, compare with Barcelona to Calella by taxi or Barcelona to Girona by taxi.
If you are flying into Girona-Costa Brava instead, Aena says taxis at its official rank run a meter and use the intercity fare approved by the Generalitat for trips outside the municipality, so the same logic applies. See the Aena page for Girona airport taxis.
What to ask before you book for Lloret
Over 75 km it pays to settle the details in writing. Ask whether the price covers tolls both ways, exactly where the driver will meet you, and what happens if your flight is late. The last question causes the most trouble in high season.
Only 6 of the 30 services mention card payment on their websites, so if you do not carry cash, confirm how you will pay. 18 of them say they work with fixed prices, which can differ from the meter estimate above; that is fine as long as the quote is written down.
