Taxi from Barcelona to La Roca Village

You are planning a shopping morning at the outlet, but you are carrying cases, travelling with family or leaving late in the day. A taxi from Barcelona to La Roca Village gives you a door-to-door ride for the whole car, and you can load the bags at the end of the day without carrying them on a bus.

La Roca Village is outside the Barcelona metropolitan area (AMB), so the AMB taxi page says the Generalitat of Catalonia's fares apply rather than the urban meter. The figures below use those rates.

Our calculation is about €61 on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and about €66 at night, at weekends and on holidays. It uses the 37.1 km route and the intercity rates in the 2026 tariff published by Girona council: €0.82 per kilometre by day and €0.89 at night.

These figures do not include waiting, traffic or tolls. They are a yardstick, not a price offered by any company.

Why is the fare more than the distance suggests?

Because the meter counts a closed circuit. The STAC explains that routes are measured back to the starting point by the shortest way unless the parties expressly agree otherwise, and that the vehicle is hired as a whole. So 37.1 km one way is billed as about 74 km.

The same page says tolls are paid by the user, including the return leg of the driver. Ask whether a quote includes the tolls in both directions before you compare two companies.

Is a taxi better than the bus or the train?

It depends on your day. The village's own page on getting to La Roca Village lists the Shopping Express bus from Estació del Nord and says the train from Barcelona Sants takes just 30 minutes. It also says the Concierge Services team can arrange a taxi or private transfer, and gives opening hours of 10:00 to 21:00.

For one person with a light bag the public options are cheaper. A taxi starts to make sense for a group of three or four, for a return after the shops close, or when you have heavy shopping to carry.

What about the wait while you shop?

You have two choices. Keep the taxi waiting, which is charged by the hour at the intercity waiting rate, or book the return as a separate pick-up. Tell the company at booking which one you want, and ask for the total in writing, because a long wait can cost more than a second ride.

Opening hours can change, so check them on the village website before choosing your return time.

Which size of taxi should you ask for?

A normal taxi takes four passengers. From five to eight, ask for a large taxi and expect the €4.60 supplement. According to their own websites, 22 of the 30 services here offer 7 or 8 seats and 10 mention wheelchair-adapted taxis.
