You have a wedding in Valencia, a flight to catch or a group with luggage, and you want one car for the whole way. A taxi from Barcelona to Valencia is a long private transfer: 348.5 km by road and about four hours without traffic. It is possible, and many companies in our list name Valencia among their destinations, but it is a different kind of booking from a city ride.
The key difference is the price. Valencia is outside Catalonia, so no official tariff applies and the price is agreed with the company before you set off. We do not give a figure, and we advise you not to trust one that comes without details.
There is no published meter fare to quote. The AMB taxi page says that trips leaving the metropolitan area use the Generalitat of Catalonia's fares, and the 2026 intercity tariff published by Girona council sets per-kilometre rates and supplements for Catalan services. A trip that ends in Valencia is outside that scope, so what you pay is what the company offers.
| What to compare | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Total price in writing | There is no official rate to check it against |
| Tolls | State whether both directions are included |
| Driver's return | Ask whether it is in the price |
| Waiting time | Ask the hourly charge and the free minutes |
| Passengers and luggage | Confirm the vehicle for your group |
| Payment method | Card, cash or advance payment |
Use the same list with each company and compare the totals, not the headline numbers.
Because the usual rules that fix a meter price do not apply here. Inside the Barcelona area and on Catalan intercity journeys, tariffs are published. The STAC explains that Catalan intercity services are hired per vehicle, counted in a closed circuit and with tolls paid by the user. For Valencia we have no equivalent official page to cite, so we do not claim any of those terms apply.
In practice that means you should ask each company how it prices the trip and what the final total includes. A written message or email is better than a phone call.
Our routing gives about four hours without traffic for 348.5 km. That is long enough for a stop, and a driver on such a trip may need a break. Ask the company whether they plan one and whether it affects the arrival time you need.
Leaving at an unusual hour, such as the early morning, is a common reason to choose a taxi over public transport. If you need to arrive for an appointment, add a margin and agree the pick-up time in writing.
A normal taxi seats four passengers. For a larger group ask for a large taxi or a minibus. According to their own websites, 19 of the 30 services in this list offer 7 or 8 seats, 11 mention card payment and 11 mention fixed prices.
Compare large taxi Barcelona for groups and private driver Barcelona for a chauffeur. If you need to arrive at El Prat first, read taxi from Barcelona airport. For other long routes, compare taxi Barcelona to Perpignan and taxi Barcelona to Tarragona. To see how the Catalan tariffs work, read Barcelona taxi fares.
Ask for a fixed total that includes tolls in both directions, the driver's return, waiting time and any supplement for extra passengers. Ask what happens if you change the time, and what the cancellation terms are. Give the exact addresses at both ends, the date and time, the number of people and the number of bags.
Child seats, pets and wheelchair space should be requested in the booking, because we cannot confirm which services supply them.
Picks come from the ranked list and its data. The method is on how we rank.
Of the 30 services, 20 are based in Barcelona and 3 in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat; the others are in El Prat de Llobregat, Sant Just Desvern, Badalona, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Esplugues de Llobregat and Sant Cugat del Vallès. Six accept pets and 22 state 24 hour service on their websites.
Send your trip through the booking form to reach up to three companies and compare the quotes.
Tell us the date and time, the pickup point, the destination, how many passengers and how much luggage, and we will pass your booking to up to three companies from this directory that fit.
